EZ Grill wants you to be prepared this Winter! Our portable grills are not just for the beach and tailgating – they store easily for use as part of an emergency preparedness kit.
While predictions from the Farmers Almanac are for a “kinder and gentler” winter this year, there are some areas that may still experience stormy conditions. Even those of you that live in warmer climates, may still be affected by blackouts. 5 million people lost power in San Diego, Arizona and Mexico in September and were without power for a day… all caused by human error. Hurricane Irene caused power outages in many regions including New York. Whether by human error or by storm, please make sure that you are prepared for every eventuality.
Try to create one spot in your home that contains most of these items. Remember to put a note on the top of your emergency preparedness kit to remind you where to find the missing items. Make sure everyone knows where to find flashlights should you need to find items in the dark.
1. Water. Calculate enough for roughly 1 gallon per person per day for about 7 days. (Make sure you calculate pets into this number).
2. Food. You may be able to grab some food and put in a cooler bag for a couple of days but make sure you have plenty of non-perishable items such as canned foods (with manual can opener), snacks and juices. If you have very young ones, make sure you have plenty of formula, jars of baby foods and diapers
3. EZ Grill – Instant, disposable and portable grills. Stock up on these grills and keep some matches. Good way to heat up foods but make sure you do not light any grill indoors NOR should you light a grill when there is a likelihood of a gas leak following a hurricane or power outage. Make sure you keep matches in a zippered bag to keep them dry. Buy Now through EZ Grill or Amazon
4. First Aid Kit including bacterial lotion or wipes. Don’t forget basic medicines such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, children’s medication etc
5. Flashlight – either the hand cranked kind or make sure you have plenty of batteries.
6. Weather radio and batteries.
7. Toiletries and hygiene items you may need for a week. Include all prescription drugs.
8. Cell phone – you can purchase extra battery power for extended use.
9. Money – if ATMs don’t work, you may need to pay for food items with cash.
10. Full tank of gas.
11. Sleeping items such as pillows, blankets and sleeping bags.
12. Keep all of your important documents, such as insurance and medical records, all together so you can grab and go.
13. Books, toys and games.
14. Pet food supplies and food along with your pet’s medical records.
15. Keys.
16. Seasonal clothing for a few days. Make sure you have hats, mittens and other winter gear on hand.
17. Tools – may be useful for minor repairs.
18. Fire extinguisher.
All items in your emergency kit should be checked each year and replaced as necessary.

The grills sure came in handy when we had no power. At least our food was hot even if the house wasn’t. My hubby cooked up some steaks for us outside – greeeaat product! We just ordered more to keep around. Love your EZ Grills.
